Fellow developers,
I turned on my media station computer the other day and I was prompted to install IE7 as a result of automatic updates.
This is fantastic news. Once IE6 usage drops below 10% I am throwing a party and you’re all invited.
For those who are not subject to the shortcomings of IE6, this is a joyous moment in web development history. Internet Explorer 6 is, to be nice, “behind”. It is extremely quirky, to find out more you can go to quirksmode.org (appropriate, eh?). IE6 does not support PNGs fully without using a filter, at which point you lose the ability to use the barnyard doors technique.

Rockin’! Only problem after this hurdle is large company intranets that don’t do automatic updates.
