I don’t normally express personal gripes here, but this is something I want to share because I don’t want anyone else to go through this.
Originally, I was booked to fly to France on December 12th. My grandfather became ill and I needed to fly sooner. Swiss Air no matter what would not change my outgoing flight, they would not let me cancel, nor did they show any compassion but they were annoyed with me on the phone and showed no respect.
My grandfather died the next day and they still would not let me change my flight or cancel it, so now I have to buy a completely new ticket.
Most travel agencies/airlines have special treatment for medical emergencies, not Swiss Air. Be careful when selecting your airline.

That’s horrible. I’m so sorry for you. There is no excuse for that kind of treatment. I hope in the future companies learn from their mistakes and purify their systems to the point where the customer really does come first. I thought I had noticed a trend to that effect, where things were getting smoother, easier, but I guess there are still many issues that need to be addressed.
What happened to you is completely unfair and never should have occurred. Swiss Air should know better.
