Answers is the latest Facebook application from the New England based company The Big Brain. This application is not another one of those games or glitter applications — it’s actually useful. You can pose questions to the general public and receive answers, it’s very similar to Yahoo! Answers or Answerbag. The difference? It’s on Facebook and integrates with the social platform, and you can earn money. Other features include a leaderboard, transaction history (money and points), privacy settings and a dashboard so that you can track all of your activity and stay on top of things.
When you join the Answers beta you will be credit $20 virtual dollars and no more — so you need to ask and answer wisely to accumulate your cash and become one of the top earners. What do you get for this virtual money? The good feeling of contributing to the first application of its kind. And, the Top 10 earners will get to transfer some of their earnings into the live version of the application with real money.

The Big Brain Answers application is a place where people can get answers to their questions and get paid to answer questions.
We all know Facebook is the smartest community online and now with Big Brain Answers you can finally put it to good use!
We’ve created a simple and reliable process to get you high quality answers. Just ask a question, set a price, then sit back and relax while the Big Brain compiles a list of users ready to answer your question. You can then view their education, work experience, feedback rating and other critical information to assure that you’ll get a great answer.
Earn Money Answering Questions on Facebook

The highlight of the application is that it allows you to earn money by answering people’s questions. Not just anyone can waltz in and start answering paying questions. You need to build a reputation before you can start doing that. How? You participate in open questions and do a good job. The community rates any open answers and the question asker can choose which answer is the best for their question. All of these actions accumulate points for the user as well as show up in their own Big Brain Answers profile.
Your Big Brain profile contains all of your statistics as well as your Education and Work info (if you allow it) so that prospective question askers can feel comfortable in who they choose to answer questions.

Help Build the Best Resource on the Best Social Networking Platform

Hmm. That sounds kind of awesome. But I’ve been sooo burned by Yahoo! Answers’ attempt at this kind of thing. It keeps showing up in my google searches and it’s just pages and pages of horrible, incoherent gibberish interspersed with people who just replied to say “i dont no” in the hopes that theirs will turn out to be the only answer and they’ll get extra points or something. I guess that’s why these big brain folks are making you earn a reputation though. That should help.
